Nixon had one of those too.

The difference is that the people that were knocking people off of Nixon's list worked for Nixon. The people on this list are knocking themselves off the list.

Really? Your remembrance of recent (at least for an old fart like me) is rather, er, creative. Perhaps you should do a bit of research and take an actual look

Are you saying that H.R. Halderman should not have convicted of conspiracy and obstruction of justice, of that John Ehrlichman should not have been convicted of conspiracy, obstruction of justice, perjury and other charges?

Or are you suggesting that John Ensign and Mark Sanford's mistresses were part of Obama's inner circle?

noooooo.....I'm talking about Nixon's list of enemies. I guess what I'm also talking about is how it is ultimately self destructive for a politician or a political faction to devote themselves to the elimination of those they perceive as threats rather than focusing on far more important matters at hand.

I guess what I'm mostly talking about is how the more things change, the more they stay the same. Only the players change.

Okay. I guess I am either failing to understand what you are saying, or you are making a false equivalence.

President Nixon had a list of enemies which his organization proactively and illegally attempted to remove from political power.

I wrote a list of people that have been listed as potential 2012 Republican Presidential candidates and have after the fact crossed out those that have done things that I believe severely damages their chance to run an effective campaign for 2012.

I don't believe that any of us who are observing which Republican candidates have severely damaged their potential for an effective Presidential campaign in 2012 are devoting themselves to the elimination of them.

Personally, I didn't perceive any of them as 'threats' or do anything to eliminate them. As a matter of fact, the only politician or political faction that has been mentioned that I believe has had so a list was Nixon.

I think I may be aiming a bit over your head. Nice blog though. I'll keep reading your stuff.
